Unbaked 9" pie shell
1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp cloves
1 c dark corn syrup
1 c quick rolled oats
1/4 c butter or margarine
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
3 eggs

Cream together butter and sugar. Add cinnamon,
cloves, and salt. Stir in syrup. Add eggs, one at
a time, stirring after each until blended. Stir in oats.
Put in pie shell. Bake at 350 until knife inserted in center comes out clean. During baking oatmeal comes to top and makes a chewy, nutty crust.

Personal Notes:
I use light corn syrup and cut the oatmeal to a half
cup. I double the recipe for a large pie and 4X it for
making oatmeal bars.
