21/2 cups blueberries
1/3 cup sugar
1 dash of salt
1 cup of water
1 Tablespoon lemon juice.

The dumplings:
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon butter
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix blueberries,sugar, salt and 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, simmer, covered for 5 minutes, then add lemon juice. Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together, cut in butter until coarse. Add milk all at once, stir just until flour is dampened.Drop from tablespoon into simmering blueberry mixture. cover tightly, cook over low heat for 10 minutes without removing cover. Serve with ice cream. "The best"

My mother ( Vina McMillan) made this all the time. It was so good and easy to make. She would make it with her homemade canned wild blueberries.She was such a wonderful cook.
