Cake:
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. cake flour
2 t. baking powder

Filling:
1/2 c. butter
6 egg yolks
juice of 3 lemons
1-1/2 c. sugar
grated rind of 3 lemons

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add 1 egg at a time. Sift flour and baking powder together twice adding alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture. Bake at 325 in 6 greased and floured 8 inch layer cake pans.

Filling:
Combine all of the ingredients in top of a double boiler and cook over hot water stirring constantly until thick. Cool, then spread between layers and on top of cake.
