1/4 cup cocoa
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine
1 cup water
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:
1 stick margarine
1/4 cup cocoa
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
1 box sifted powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar and salt. Set aside. Melt margarine with cocoa, water and Crisco, bring just to a boil. Pour over flour mixture and mix by hand. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Mix well, then pour in greased and floured pan.
Cook at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
Frosting: Bring margarine, cocoa and buttermilk to a boil, then add vanilla and salt. Pour this over sugar and beat well. Then add optional chopped pecans.
