2 cups AP flour
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sour cream
1 egg slightly beaten
2/3 cup currents (optional)
2 tsp. milk
1 tbsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl; stir well. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add sour cream and egg, stirring until moistened. Stir in currents.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Pat dough onto 8" circle on a greased baking sheet. Brush top with milk, sprinkle with 1 tbsp. sugar.

Cut circle into 8 wedges, separate slightly.

Bake at 400 for 14-16 minutes. Serve warm.

Strawberry Butter: 1/2 cup butter, softened
2 1/2 tbsp. strawberry preserves
Mix and serve with scones.
