3/4 cup sifted AP flour
1 1/2 cups yellow corn meal
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and sift dry ingredients. Combine eggs and buttermilk, add melted shortening, pour into dry mixture and stir.

Turn into an 8x8" oiled pan and bake at 400 for 30 minutes or until brown.
