1 cup butter or margarine cubed
1/2 cup water
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup ripe mashed banana ( abut 2 medium)
1/2 cup buttermilk or soured milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Frosting
1 package 8 oz. cream cheese softened
1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups powered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a sauce pan, bring butter or margarine and water to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugars, baking soda, eggs bananas buttermilk or soured milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth.Carefully add butter and water mixture. Mix well and then add the nuts. Pour into a 10" x 15" x 1" greased cookie sheet.
Bake in 350' oven for 18 to 22 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.

For frosting, beat softened butter or margarine and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar.Mix well. Spread over the bars and store in the refrigerator.
