Ingredients:
1 quart half and half cream
3 tablespoons cultured buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat half and half cream until just barely lukewarm. Stir in buttermilk. Place in large clean jar with tight fitting lid. Shake gently about 1 minute. Set jar in warm place and do not disturb until it sets: this may take up to 24 hours. Refrigerate. Makes 1 quart.

Note: A Styrofoam ice chest is ideal to keep the jar of cream at a constant temperature while setting. Also can be placed in the oven with the heat turned off. Will stay fresh up to 3 to 4 weeks in the refrigerator.
