2 t. cream of tartar
1 c. water
1 Tbls. oil

drops of food coloring

Stir the ingredient's together with mixer until dough pulls away from the sides.

divide and add coloring for needed shade of dough.

When the boys were small we have several play dough toys, but many times the lid to the can was left off and the play doh was hard as a rock. This recipe was a great substitute. It will stay pliable for a while in tightly closed containers but doesn't stay as soft as long as the real thing.
