Cream shortening with sugar thoroughly, add eggs on at a time, and beat well. Sift flour, measure; sift again with baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, stir in flavoring and add nuts. Turned mixture onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Divide dough in half, form into 2 rolls the length of cookie sheet and 1 Ĺ inches in diameter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until rolls are firm to the touch. While still warm, cut rolls cross-wise into slices ĺ inches thick.
