2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
teaspoon baking soda
teaspoon salt
cup shortening
1 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla
cup milk
1 cup mashed bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and baking powder, salt and soda, sift again. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition, add vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and bananas stirring only enough to blend well. Pour into 2 greased 9 x 1 " layer pans. Bake in moderate 375 degree oven about 25 minutes. When cool spread whipped cream between layers put together and top with whipped cream. Garnish with a few slices of banana and sliced walnuts.
