cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons melted butter
cup chopped walnuts

Cake:

1 cups flour
1 teaspoons baking powder
teaspoon salt
cup sugar
cup shortening
1 egg
cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon together. Blend in melted butter. Stir in chopped nuts and mix well. Use as filling and topping for coffee cake.

Cake:

Sift flour once before measuring. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Cut in shortening or rub it in with fingers until mixture is like a fine cornmeal. Blend in the well beaten egg mixed with the milk. Blend in vanilla and beat just enough to mix thoroughly. Pour half the batter into a well greased and floured heavy baking pan 6 x 10. Sprinkle with half the streusel mixture. Add remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the streusel mixture over the top. Bake 30 minutes in 375 degree oven. Sprinkle powdered sugar over top of cake when cooled.
