4 c shredded red cabbage
1/4 c cider vinegar
1/2 c water
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
2 tart apples, peeled, cored and diced
1 T sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a pan, combine shredded cabbage with all ingredients except apples and sugar. Cover and cook over moderate heat for 15 minutes, tossing several times so the cabbage will cook evenly.
