1 c butter or oleo
4 sq unsweetened chocolate
2 c sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c sifted flour
1 1/2 c chopped walnuts
6 oz semisweet chocolate pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate in medium size pan over moderate heat. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar gradually with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in vanilla. Stir in flour until thoroughly combined. Stir in 1 cup of the walnuts. Spread into a greased 13x9x2" pan. Combine remaining 1/2 cup walnuts with chocolate pieces and sprinkle over top of cookie mixture, pressing down lightly. Bake in a 350 oven for 35 minutes, or until top springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
