1/2 c butter, softened
1 3/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 tsp vanilla
1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beating until well blended. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Shape dough into a roll, 1 1/2" in diameter; wrap in wax paper and chill 2 hours. Remove wax paper and cut into 1/4" slices. Place 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
