1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter 1 egg 1 cup seedy jam 2 cups flour 1/2 cup sour milk 1 tsp soda in milk
Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and jam. Stir in flour alternately with sour milk. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes. Serve with fresh cream. Can substitute 1 cup cream for 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup butter. If cream or milk is sweet, add 1 tsp vinegar.
This is Grandpa Trail's (Lee) mother's recipe. It has been in the family many years.
