2 cups Mashed potatoes (sloppy)
9 cups flour
6 pkg yeast dissolve in 1 1/2 warm water (1 pkg of yeast equals a scant tablespoon)
2 cups scalded milk
2/3 cups sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1 cup butter or margarine
4 beaten eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, sugar, salt in scalded milk. Let cool, add beaten eggs, mashed potatoes, dissolved yeast, and enough flour to make a soft dough. Let raise 1 hour, roll and cut. Let doughnuts raise hour. Fry in grease till golden brown.

Glaze:
About 4 cups powdered sugar, add enough canned milk and a little regular milk to make a fairly runny frosting. Flavor with vanilla. Dip doughnuts in while they are hot.

Note: We found if you put the fried doughnut on a cake rake for a minute to drip off as much oil as possilbe, then transfer them to a dish town and pat to take off the residue of oil, the glaze will stick better.
