1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion
3 cloves garlic
28 oz canned or fresh tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp dried basil or 1 tbsp fresh
2 - 7 oz cans of chopped clams
hot spaghetti or linguine

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, and basil. Cook 20 minutes. Add clams and heat until warmed. Serve over noodles. Sauce will not be thick like spaghetti sauce.

This is a favorite with clams we dig on the Oregon coast during our Clark family trips. When using fresh tomatoes I use about 6 cups tomatoes and cook 45- 60 minutes to reduce liquid.
