3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.

Mix all the dry ingredients (except sugar) together in a large bowl.
In another bowl blend together the shortening, sugar, egg and molasses. Stir in the flour mixture.

Form the cookies into small balls. Roll in sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes
