1 lb mixed candied fruit
1 lb raisins
1 lb chopped pecans
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup oleo or butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp of soda dissolved in 1 1/2 tbsp milk
1/3 cup of orange or grape juice
Candied cherries (quartered)

Chop fruit fine. Mix in raisins and nuts. Dredge with 1/2 cup flour. Cream butter well and gradually add sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift flour, measure and then sift again, adding spices and dissolved soda to the cream mixture. Alternating, add flour and juice blending well. Add floured fruits and nuts mixing well. Drop by tsps. on a greased cookie sheet. Place a half of a candied cherry on each cookie, and bake at 350 for 12 to 25 minutes.
