1 1/3 c. sugar, 1/2 c. butter, 4 egg whites, 1 c. milk, 2 c. flour, 1/2 t. salt, 2 tsp. baking powder.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, butter, and egg whites together. Mix milk. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix for about 3 minutes.

Pour into a greased 9 X 13" baking pan or two round baking pans. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Frost with your favorite frosting.

Dad often told how Aunt Jane would bake this cake to satisfy his "sweet tooth". They must have been young, because he told how he'd beg her to bake this cake when they got home from school. Dad had an eighth grade education. When Aunt Jane was visiting, Dad was sharing this story with everyone. Jane replied she couldn't say no to her younger brother.
