1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups flours
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and molasses; beat thoroughly.

Add remaining ingredients.

Bake in greased and flourd 8 x 8 x 2 pan at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
