Ingredients:  
1 c. soft shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream tarter
1 tsp. soda
tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir together flour, cream tartar, soda and salt. Stir into shortening mixture. Roll into balls the size of a small walnut. Roll in mixture of cinnamon, sugar and ground cloves. (4 tsp. Sugar, 1 T. Cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp. Cloves)
Place 2 apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350
(For Christmas cookies you can use red or green sugar.)
