1 lb. whole pitted dates
1 lb. whole pecans or walnuts
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add dates and nuts. Beat lightly 4 egg yolks and add to dry ingredients. Beat 4 egg whites until stiff. Add vanilla and fold into above mixture. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan. Also line bottom of pan with paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes.
