2 t. sugar
2 pkgs. active yeast
1//4 c warm water, 105 degrees
2 T. sugar
3 3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. lard
12-15 c. flours

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve 2 t. sugar and yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and set aside. Mix sugar, salt, milk and melted shortening together. Add yeast mixture. Mix well. Add flour in thirds until you have a stiff but sticky dough. Pour out on a floured surface and knead for 15 minute's adding flour as necessary to prevent sticking. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled. Punch it down and let it rise a second time. Pour out on a floured surface and cut into 4 loaves. Shape each loaf and place it in a loaf greased loaf pan. Let rise until doubled. Bake in a 350 oven for 30-40 minutes or until the loaf sounds hollow when you thump it with your knuckles. Grease each loaf and cover with a damp towel.
