Cook one (6-7lb.) chicken, very tender. Remove all
bones and cut the chicken into fine pieces. Thicken chicken broth like thick gravy or syrup. Boil 10 eggs hard, then peel, chop or grind fine and salt. Toast 8 or 9 pieces of bread, then break into small pieces. Put the contents in a long pan, 2 1/2 inches high.

First a little broth and half the chicken, toasted bread crumbs next. Add more broth to cover the bread and pat. Then add half the eggs.
Second layer:
Repeat
Bake 1/2 hour or longer in hot oven until eggs brown on top. Serves 18 people.
