"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

This absolutely delicious punch is much stronger than it tastes--just ask my sisters. After a couple of glasses, they were both on the ground---literally. So, take it easy, especially if the weather's hot. My father made this for special occasions and at Christmas time, but once you taste it, you'll use every excuse you can to make it all the time. It is, indeed a wonderful addition to any party.
