3-1/3 cups all purpose flour sifted
1 T ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cloves
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses-

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, ground cloves. Cream 1 cup butter. Gradually add 1 cup sugar, creaming well. Blend in 1/2 cup molasses. Add dry ingredients gradually, mixing well. Shape dough into rolls about 8 inches long. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Cut into 1/8 inch slices; dip top side in colored sugar if desired. Place on ungreased cookie sheet - Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Remove while warm.
