1 c. sugar
2 tsp. soft butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
about 4 c. flour
(enough flour to make it easy to roll).

Roll on a floured surface about 1/2 inch thickness, cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in hot oil (375) until golden brown, turn over when one side is done.
