7 to 8 Cups flour,
1lb. box light brown sugar,
1- tsp salt,
1- egg,
1/4 lb margarine( softened)
1- tsp soda,
1- tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 cup buttermilk.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour into large bowl, Place soft margarine in well in center. Add sugar and work the soda ,salt , and pumpkin spice into sugar with fingers.. Add egg and work together with sugar and margarine Add buttermilk gradually, working in flour as you go until milk is gone and you have soft dough. Divide into 7 equal portions and press into greased and floured cake pans. bake each layer 10 to 12 min.

FILLING: 3 cups fresh apple sauce, 1 tsp pumpkin spice, 3/4 cup sugar.
Place filling between each layer, while still warm.
Best if sets at least one day.
