4 cups romaine lettuce, washed, dried thoroughly and torn to bite size
4 green onions, chopped
4 slices smoked bacon, chopped
4 tbsp vinegar
4 tsp white or brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Place lettuce and onions in large serving bowl. In medium skillet fry diced bacon until crisp. Do not drain grease. Add vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to mixture in skillet. Bring to a boil and cook 30 seconds. Immediately pour over lettuce and onions. Toss well and serve.
