1 Cup oats
1/4 Cup butter
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1-1/2 Cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla

Pour 1-1/4 Cups boiling water over oats and let stand 20 min.
Cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar;
Add: eggs ,salt, vanilla, cinnamon,flour, soda.
Mix well and pour in 2-8in pans.
Bake in 350 deg. oven for 30 to 35 min.

Topping: 1/3 C. melted butter, 1/4 C. milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1Cup coconut (shredded) 1/2 c. pecans, 1/2 cup brown sugar.. Mix together , spread over cake, put under broiler to brown.
