1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (3 bananas)
3 cups plain sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 c. butter
2 1/4 c. sugar
3 unbeaten eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and sugar well. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Mix dry ingredients. Combine sieved (mashed) bananas and flour alternately to the creamed mixture. Cook at 325 in tube pan 60 or 75 minutes.
