2 c cornmeal
1 T flour
1 t baking powder
1/2 t soda
1 t salt
1 egg, beaten
1 c buttermilk
3 T minced onion
Fat for deep fat frying (oil)

Directions:
Directions:
Blend dry ingredients. Add egg, buttermilk, and onion. Mix well. Drop by T in deep fat heated to 375. Fry until golden brown; remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
