"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Preheat oven to 350°. Mix sugars and butter in a large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Beat into mixture. Stir in oats. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake 10 to 12 minutes (until edges are slightly golden) on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cool for a couple minutes and remove from pan (to a wire rack or container—do not stack cookies until they are completely cooled or they will clump).
