1/2 C shortening
1 C sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 C milk
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1/2 t salt
1 1/2 C flour
1 t baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Bake in loaf pan for 1 hour at 350. Have ready juice of one lemon and 1/4 cup sugar; mix well. Pour over loaf when taken from oven and let juice soak in.
