1 c. cornmeal
1 dash ground cayenne pepper
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped green onion
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 T. bacon fat, melted
1/4 c. chopped parsley
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients. Slowly incorporate the eggs, buttermilk, onions and bacon fat. Mix very well. Drop by spoonfuls into a hot deep fryer and brown on all sides.
