1 cup margarine cubed
1/2 cup water
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium)
1/2 cup buttermilk or soured mild
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Frosting
1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened
1/2 cup softened margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups powered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In sauce pan bring margarine and water to a boil. Remove from the heat and set aside. In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugars, baking soda, eggs bananas, buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat until blended. Carefully add water mixture and nuts. Stir until blended. Pour into a greased 10 x 15 inch cookie jelly roll pan. Bake in 350' preheated oven for 18 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
Frosting

beat softened cheese and margarine until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat again. Gradually add the powered sugar. Stir until blended. Spread oven the cooled bars. Store in the refrig. This will taste better if it is in refrig at least over night. It will keep for over a week. It even tastes better with age. It slice mine and store in covered containers.
