1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 T syrup
1 T vinegar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup milk
2 eggs
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
3 T melted fat or oil
1 1/2 tsp salt

In a bowl, pour boiling water over cornmeal. Stir until thickens, add milk, stir in syrup and add this to cornmeal mixture. Add beaten eggs slowly, stir. Add flour, baking powder, salt and soda stir. Add melted fat and stir. Cook this batter on hot grill or skillet (do not grease) GOOD
