MIXTURE 1
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

MIXTURE 2
2 tsp. cocoa
2 oz. red food coloring
1 c. buttermilk

MIXTURE 3
2 1/2 cups plain flour
dash of salt

MIXTURE 4
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda

ICING
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese
1 stick margarine
1 box 10X sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Blend Mixture 1 until creamy. Stir the cocoa into the liquids in Mixture 2. Add Mixture 2 and Mixture 3 alternately into Mixture 1. DO NOT COMBINE ingredients in Mixture 4 until cake pans are greased and floured and ready to go into the oven. Add Mixture 4 and then pour into pans. Immediately place into a 350 degree oven. Bake until knife comes out clean. (about 25 to 35 minutes)

ICING:
Mix the ingredients together and frost cooled cake layers.
