2 lbs boneless beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
2 cups fresh or canned tomatoes
6 sprigs parsley
2 cups chopped cabbage
1/4 cup rice or barley
5 to 6 carrots sliced
2 cups cut green beans
1 cup diced potato
1/2 cup chopped celery
7 beef boullion cubes
2 quarts water

Brown beef, add onions, saute 5 minutes. Dissolve bouillon cubes in some of the water. Add remaining water and the rest of the ingredients to beef and onions. Simmer slowly 2 to 3 hours.
