1 1/4 C (2.5 sticks) butter or margarine
3/4 C brown sugar
1/2 C sugar
1 Egg
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 C flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
3 C oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter or margarine an sugar until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices - mix well.

Add dry to wet mixture until moistened. Fold in oatmeal.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-9 for chewy cookies and 10-11 for crisp cookies.

Cool 1 minute on the sheet then move to wire rack for cooling.
