Chicken:
1/2 C flour
2 t salt
1 t paprika
1 t thyme - crushed
1/4 t black pepper
3 lbs of fryer chicken
1/4 C oil or shortening
1/4 C or 1/2 stick of butter

Biscuts:
2 C flour - sifted
1 T baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/4 C shortening
1 C milk

Gravy:
2 T pan drippings and 2 T flour over heat to make roux and add enough milk till creamy

Directions:
Directions:
Measure flour, slat, paprika, thyme and pepper into a plastic bag. Add chicken and shake to coat. Keep flour mix for gravy later.

Melt shortening and butter in 9 x 13 baking pan in hot oven (425) for 5 minutes. Place chicken in 1 layer of butter- oil, turning to coat each piece.

Return chicken to oven and bake 40-45 minutes turning 1-2 times. Also cook another 20 min while biscuts are cooking.

Biscuts:
Cut dry ingredients into shortening, stir in 1 C milk. Form biscuts with glass and bake with chicken for 20 minutes until golden brown
