3 c. flour, 1/3 c. plus 2 T. sugar, divided, 2 1/2 t. baking powder, 3/4 t. salt, 1/2 t. baking soda, 3/4 c. cold butter, 1 c. buttermilk, 1c. dried cranberries, 1 t. grated orange peel, 1 T. milk, 1/2 t. ground cinnamon.

In a bowl, combine the flour, 1/3 c. sugar, baking powder, salt & soda. Cut in butter. Stir in buttermilk just until combined. Add cranberries & orange peel. Turn onto a floured surface; divide dough in half. Shape into a ball & pat into a 6" circle. Cut each circle into 6 wedges. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush with milk. Combine the remaining sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over scones. Bake at 400 15 minutes or until golden brown.

These scones are just delicious! I prefer a smaller scone so I divide the dough in half to make 24 smaller scones. Reduce baking time to about 10 minutes.
