1 box chocolate cake mix, 1 can cherry pie filling, 1 t. almond extract, 2 eggs, beaten.

Frosting:
1 c. sugar, 5 T. butter, 1/3 c. milk- regular or evaporated, 1 cup chocolate chips.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 X 13 " pan. Combine ingredients in mixing bowl & mix by hand till blended. Bake for 25 minutes.

Frosting:
In small pan, combine sugar, butter & milk. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat & add chocolate chips. Stir until smooth & pour over warm cake. Frosting sets as it cools.

This is definitely Dave's favorite cake & it's simple to make! Batter can be poured into a 15 X 10 inch pan also (Milly). It's a favorite to serve a large crowd with this sweet treat. It's worth it for the frosting alone (Marcia).
