6 lbs fresh tomatoes
2 1/4 C white vinegar
1 1/3 C sugar
3/4 C chopped finely onion
1/2 C sweet green/red peppers
1 T salt
1 1/4 t cinnamon
1 t hot-pepper sauce
3/4 t cloves
3/4 t nutmeg

Core and chop tomatoes- should make apx 13 C
In a 8 qt pot or kettle, stir together the tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, onion, peppers, salt, cinnamon, hot pepper sauce, cloves and nutmeg.

Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally for about 1.5 hours or until sauce is thickened - or reduced by 1/2.

Immediately ladle the chili sauce into hot canning jars. Process and seal
