1 1/4 C sugar
1 C (1 stick) butter flavored Crisco Shortening
2 eggs
1/4 C light corn syrup
1 t vanilla
3 C + 4 T flour
3/4 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, shortening on medium speed with mixer until well blended. Add eggs, syrup and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.

Combine 3 C flour, baking power, soda and salt. Add gradually to cream mixture on low speed. Mix until well blended.

Divide dough into 4 quarters. Wrap each qtr in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour

Spread 1 T flour on sheet of wax paper. Place 1 qtr of dough on sheet and flatten with hands. Turn dough over and cover with another sheet of wax paper. Roll into 1/4 inch thickness

Cut with floured cutters and place on ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart

Bake at 375 for 5-9 minutes depending on size. Do not overbake!

Cool 2 min on baking sheet then transfer to wire rack. Frost if desired
