1c. + 2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. softened shortening
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional - I use walnuts)
1 c. caramel chips

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and add soda, salt and remaining ingredients. Blend together until smooth. Add nuts and caramel chips. Mix together. Drop by teaspoon and press w/ bottom of a tumbler dipped in sugar. Bake @ 350 until brown.
