soak 1/3 c. poppy seeds in 1/2 c. water for 2 hour, then drain.
3/4 c. shortening
1-1/2 c sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. water
4 egg whites stiffly beaten

Directions:

Bake @ 350 for 30-35 minutes. When cooled, top with 1/4 C sugar
1 tbls cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
1 C cream
4 egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
