1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons soda
1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar with butter, add eggs and then the dry ingredients.
Bake 350' till slightly brown around edges.

I mash them down with the tines of a fork. Like you use on
peanut butter cookies

These were my old standbys. No fancy ingredients. My kids ate
